Time Manager

Gary Duncan, PhD

Univeristy of North Carolina

Ryan Dewitt has worked with me over the past two years on projects to create multimedia resources for science education.

One project created a tutorial that incorporates a series of animations to illustrate basic neurobiological principles. Other segments of the tutorial address effects of alcohol on the brain in relation to driving performance. The second project involved creating multimedia components of  a science-based health curriculum to raise awareness about fetal alcohol syndrome.

Ryan has been a tremendous asset as member of our team in translating complex science into simple animations to help students learn. With little background in biology, Ryan has done an amazing job in researching and learning the details of the content that we address in our curricula. Ryan has been very responsive to many picky detailed requirements for the accurate representation of scientific concepts. Through his self-directed efforts and close interaction with the team we have been able to formulate learning resources that could address pressing public health concerns.

He has demonstrated excellent organizational skills and managed his work well in terms of moving projects forward in a timely manner and meeting critical deadlines.

His work has involved integration of variety of software applications including 3D modeling, animation, digital video, and interactive web technologies. Through this innovative integration of approaches we have created resources that can excite and engage students in the learning process.

In all of my extensive interactions with Ryan he has been a pleasure to work with and I give him my highest recommendation.

Sincerely,

 Gary Duncan, Ph.D.
